2018 Teacher of the Year nomination process now open

Schools are invited to recognize and honor excellence by nominating a Teacher of the Year for 2018.

Quality teachers provide the foundation for student learning and achievement, supporting the district’s mission that all students will graduate with the skills, motivation, curiosity and resilience to succeed and be active participants in society. Effective teaching in every classroom is central to Vision 2020 and creating Quality Schools in Every Neighborhood.

Is there a teacher at your site that stands out and embodies the principles of quality teaching?

Is someone at your site a Life Changer? Nominate them now for LifeChanger of the Year

We all know at least one teacher or school district employee who inspires us, and goes above and beyond for their students. It could be a gym teacher who started a nonprofit to teach students about art and music, an administrator who visits the homes of students in need, or a maintenance worker who fundraises for school programs. These educators and school employees are LifeChangers, and we're here to help you honor them.

Resistance Bands & Kettle Bells workouts Fridays at Ed Center

Fall is a great time to refocus and re-energize and what better way to do that than thru exercise? As part of our District Wellness Initiative, VEBA is offering district employees a free Resistance Bands & Kettle Bells workout in the EOC Situation room on Fridays from 12-1pm. (This is an air-conditioned room.) Resistance Bands will be from 12-12:30 and Kettle Bells will be 12:30-1:00 p.m. Workout attire is recommend but not required. This is a great workout and the instructor accommodates for different levels of experience.
