11/17 - HS Principals - Information regarding Youth Risk Behavior Survey

The district’s Sexual Health Education Program will be implementing the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) in district high schools this spring. Created by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the YRBS is the leading source of youth behavioral data provided to local, state, and national health organizations.

Our program will implement the YRBS at the beginning of Semester 2, from January 30 – March 24, 2017. Approximately 2-10 Period 2 classrooms per high school will be selected to participate in the survey (in grades 9-12 inclusive) and our program will contact these classroom teachers directly to schedule the surveys. For additional information please see Administrative Circular 34. To view past YRBS data and reports, please see www.sandiegounified.org/YRBS.

If you have questions, please contact Rachel Miller, Resource Teacher in the Sexual Health Education Program, at rmiller@sandi.net or (619) 725-7121.
