FAQs from previous years:

Can I bring a canopy in for our booth?

As long as it fits the 10 x 10 space, yes.

Can we hang things on the drapery around the booth?

Yes, but make sure to use clips and not pins to hang the posters. We are renting the drapery, so we have to pay for damages.

What time can we begin setting up the booth?

We typically allow for set up to begin at 2:30, however if you need more time, please let me know and we will see what we can do.

For the Open project, do the Students have to come up with the project idea/proposal or the business community?

It could be either. The project however needs to respond to a real world problem. Sometimes it is easier to find a problem, and then go find a business or community partner.

Can you send me the questions the students respond to and how they are judged?

Attached. Two documents.

What is the role of the business or community organization partner?

This can vary. But they should be involved in the project either in its development or implementation.

How big are the booths? Is there power?

The booths are 10 x 10 feet in dimension. There is power for each booth. For more details see the ‘Load-In Tear-Down’ document attached.

What if I need supplies for the Showcase?

Request the supplies immediately

Do my students have to be there?

The projects are supposed to be student created, so this should be a requirement. However, there is no requirement to how many students need to be present. It is a limited space so too many may be an issue.

What is meant by “Outside the Classroom” projects?

The project should be OUTSIDE of typical class work and for a problem outside of the classroom, not for the teacher. For example, the project could be working with a community organization on a need they have to serve the local community. It could involve a business or local government. Really, there are no shortage of problems or issues to address!

Who will be at the Showcase?

Everyone! Well, not everyone…but teachers, students, parents, community members, business partners, school board members, central office administrators, school administrators, politicians, media members, and many more!

What else should I know?
