Fee for Transportation
On February 23, 2010, the Board of Education directed the charging of a fee for student transportation, except Special Education, for the 2010-11 school year. All transported students, with the exception of Special Education, received a
letter
about the Fee for Transportation program.
The fee for transportation service for one student is $340 for the school year. There is a discounted fee of $170 per year for a second child and no additional cost for three or more children from the same household. Various forms of payment will be accepted. The first payment was due September 17, 2010.
Transportation fees are not be charged for the following students:
Family Income
Household income is below those identified on the “Free Transportation Eligibility Scale” found on the No-Fee Transportation Application (

- Student is certified by the San Diego Unified Food Services Department to receive free- or reduced-price lunch. Status is verified prior to the assignment of no-fee services.
