STAR Update

Dear Principals and/or STAR Test Coordinators:
 
As you know, the California Modified Assessment will be available to students in Grades 3-8 this year.  The Special Education Department has conducted trainings for Case Managers and site staff about appropriately identifying students for the CMA.  The PowerPoint can be found on the following website:  http://www.sandi.net/depts/specialed/SchoolYearStartUp.htm .
 
Case Managers have been asked to complete the attached form (“CMA Criteria for IEP Teams”) with the names of students who will be taking the CMA at your school. Forms must be faxed to Naomi Lewis at (619) 725-7367 or emailed to nlewis1@sandi.net by this Friday, November 14, 2008.

Please refer to the attached FAQ sheet which includes information about the eligibility requirements as you identify students for the CMA .  If you have questions about the CMA, please contact me or Debby Warner at dwarner@sandi.net.
