Rosemary JaworskiHorton Elementary School Nurse Rosemary Jaworski, RN, NP, was recently honored at the Children’s Dental Health Association Golden Crown Gala for her dedication to meeting the many needs of her students. “Rosemary has done so much for the children at Horton,” said Beverly Hom from the dental health association. “Whatever she can get for them, she will.” One of Rosemary’s most significant accomplishments is obtaining a school-wide commitment, signed by staff and parents, to have only healthy snacks and foods at school and class celebrations in an effort to fight childhood obesity and promote wellness.

La Jolla High School took first and second place in the National Oceanographic Sciences Bowl regional competition, securing an all-expense paid trip to the national competition being held in April in Alaska. This is the eighth year in a row that LJHS has taken first. Congratulations to the team and coach Lee Decker. For information, visit www.nosb.org/.
