• Correia Staff Correia Middle School staff took a special field trip to Chicano Park last August 30th. Staff members wanted to experience first-hand what the ride to and from Barrio Logan was like for their VEEP students. The staff was greeted by local activist Ramon “Chunky” Sanchez, who provided historical background on the park.
• Jefferson Elementary on Patriot Day Jefferson Elementary School celebrated Patriot Day on September 11 by honoring first responders from the San Diego Police Department, the district School Police Department and San Diego City Fire Department.
• Marshall Middle School Opening San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders and Principal Rick Novak were all smiles as they welcomed students back to school at the new campus of Thurgood Marshall Middle School.
