School Police Volunteer Patrol
The new school year is underway and everyone is getting back into the routine, including the School Police Volunteer Patrol. The district Crime Prevention Unit relies on this group of dedicated parents and community members who volunteer their time to be that extra pair of eyes and ears as our students go to and from school. The program, which began in December 2002, continues to grow each year. Last June, School Police honored more than 125 parent volunteers representing ten schools at the annual recognition ceremony. With help from these dedicated volunteers, School Police is looking forward to another safe school year. For information about the Volunteer Patrol or the Crime Prevention Unit, contact Community Service Officers Eugene Lewis or Ricardo Garcia at (619) 725- 7000.
