Sandra Chong Assistant General Counsel Sandra T.M. Chong has received the San Diego Metropolitan Magazine “40 under 40” award. The title refers to 40 San Diegans under the age of 40 years who are the region’s exceptional young business and civic leaders.
With help from KPBS and the Rolando Library, students from Crawford High School of Media and Visual Arts wrote, acted and produced a trailer for the non-fiction book “Enrique's Journey.” The students involved in the project included scriptwriters Leonel Roman, Abigail Barron, Karla Ruelas and Stephanie Plascencia; directors Gamliel Padilla and Thera Thorn; grip Jamila Smalls; and actors Paola Kubelis and Marcos Hernandez. Pacific Beach Middle School received official Authorization as an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in August, joining Roosevelt Middle as the only two schools in the city of San Diego to offer the prestigious Middle Years International Baccalaureate Programme. As a fully-authorized program, the school will help prepare students to tackle the high-level college preparatory courses they'll encounter as they matriculate into Mission Bay High School’s demanding and prestigious IB Diploma Programme.
