Save Money on Back-to-School Supplies
Office Depot Offers Discounts to District Employees
 Employees can receive the district’s discounted Office Depot contract price on items purchased at any Office Depot retail store by registering a personal credit card and e-mail address online at https://odams.officedepot.com/registrations/sdusd_cc.php. Employees automatically receive the district contract price or the store price, whichever is lower, when using their registered credit card. Items must be purchased as CREDIT not DEBIT. Only items included in the contract are eligible for the discount. Other items will be sold at the regular store price.

Remember to give your school ID when shopping at Office Depot and the school will receive 5% back on qualifying school supplies included in this program. The Office Depot cashier can look up a school’s ID at check-out. For information, contact John Groll at jgroll@sandi.net or (858) 522-5821.

Tariq Khamisa Foundation
Planting Seeds of Hope for Our Children’s Future
 Tariq Khamisa Foundation (TKF) is a non-profit organization and district partner in education dedicated to breaking the epidemic of youth violence. Through its school-based nonviolence programs, Azim Khamisa, Ples Felix, and TKF staff speak to elementary, middle, and high school students about gangs, violence, revenge, and the importance of becoming “peacemakers.”

TKF is now scheduling violence-prevention programs for the 2007-08 school year. Free services include Violence Impact Forum assemblies (grades 4-8), presentations on gangs and Proposition 21 for upper grade students and staff, and Ending the Cycle of Violence video series (grades 5-12) with curriculum. TKF-facilitated groups (at $40/hr) are also available for Ending the Cycle of Violence and Peace/Leadership Clubs for all ages. For information on programs, visit www.tkf.org.
