Having trouble convincing parents that their child’s success begins with attendance? Our latest Every Day Counts! flyer can help get the message across:
  • A student must work twice as hard. For every missed day of school, it takes two days to catch up (as reported by the U.S. Dept. of Education).
  • A teacher loses class time re-teaching something taught the day before.
  • A school loses $30 to $50 a day in funding. Absences in the 2005-06 school year cost the district just under $31 million in lost revenues.
  • A community loses countless hours and dollars in human services for “repair work” in the areas of crime, unemployment and substance abuse.
