• Glenda McGee, from the Rowan Elementary, and Barbara Kaplan, from Field Elementary, are the latest winner’s of the district’s Recycling Office contest. Glenda won a $25 gift certificate to Ponce's Mexican Restaurant and Barbara won a $25 gift card to Ralphs. Interested in participating in the contest? Download the card Acrobat PDF. • Teachers from Kipp Adelante Preparatory Academy and Miller Elementary School have each received a Dream Classroom Grant from KSWB Channel 5. St. Claire Adriaan and his students at KIPP Adelante Preparatory Academy were the November Dream Classroom winners and Theresa Culver and her fourth grade class at Miller Elementary were the January Dream Classroom winners. Each will receive a $1,000 check to purchase educational supplies for the classroom.
• La Jolla High School’s choral group,The Madrigals, sang the National Anthem before a crowd of 62,395 football fans at the 2006 Pacific Life Holiday Bowl held December 28 at Qualcomm Stadium.
