She retired from Lafayette Elementary as a teacher for the deaf in June 2000. • Joanne Midori Kimura Young, whose service with the district began in August 2003, died on November 25, 2005. She was a special education teacher at Jerabek Elementary School at the time of her death. She is survived by her husband and two children.
