SDCS Participates in National Interactive Webcast Last month, SDCS joined districts across the country in an online, interactive webcast to discuss roadblocks to implementing bullying, sexual harassment and violence-prevention programs. How Many Languages Do You Speak? With more than 64 different languages spoken in students' homes, how does the district's Translation Services Unit handle such a daunting task? District's Parent Congress Educates Parent Delegates, Principals Informational displays, provided by the Recycling and Transportation departments, DAC, Special Education/CAC SE, GATE, PTA, DELAC, the Harold J. Ballard Parent Center/Parent University and Police Services, offered materials and answered parents' questions through posters, pictures, brochures and friendly faces. Next Year's 2005-06 District Calendar NEXT SCHOOL YEAR 2005-06, you will notice several changes to the district calendar. These changes were recommended by the district Calendar Committee, including administrators, teachers and other staff, parents and community members, and the calendar was adopted by the Board of Education on September 28, 2004.
