Hall
of Fame
- Congratulations
are in order for a number of staff at Mira Mesa High School,
beginning with principal Rachel Flanagan, for being selected
to the National Register's "Who's Who in Executives and
Professionals" for reaching a level of recognizable success
in her field. Mrs. Flanagan will be included in the 2003-04 edition
which will be registered at the library of Congress in Washington,
D.C.
- Kudos to
Mira Mesa Health and Driver Education teacher Jean Palmer
for receiving a special recognition plaque for 43 years of dedicated
service to district and community health programs.
- Mira Mesa
Advanced Placement teacher Bill Male was recently honored
by the civic organization Harmonium for his service to
the the Mira Mesa community and his commitment to youth and families
in San Diego.
- Congratulations
to several Mira Mesa teachers for being recognized by UCSD
as exemplary educators. Marilyn Baer, Jeanne Christensen, Sharon
Early, Paula Earnest, Melissa Ferro, Catherine Fox-Copeland, Ken
Jones, Don Lee, Bill Male, Mike Prosser, Amy Johnson, Dale Thomas,
Earl Toler and Beth Ulrich were nominated by former
students who are now studying at UCSD. The teachers were recognized
for their significant achievements as teachers and for their guidance
and dedication of students.
- Hage Elementary
physical education preptime teacher Lynn Barnes-Wallace
has been named Southwest Regional Physical Education Teacher
of the Year.
- Sandburg
Elementary Principal Gloria Coleman will retire January 31.
Gloria has been with the district for 37 years, including 8 1/2
years at Sandburg.
