| To know you was to love and admire who you were A dynamic living legend with a sense of allure Energetic, humorous, committed to the core That was Barbara MacNeil, who could ask for more? Dedication to special students began in early life Having her own hearing loss focused her strife Education and hope would brighten many days A Renaissance woman is so many ways. Her energy source seemed to stretch for a mile Awesome responsibilities were met with that smile Caring for others was priority number one Amazingly driven she got the jobs done. Her life was a kaleidoscope of intensity and joy Colorful in her dress she loved to play coy Her presence insured a fun time for all In her company everyone had a ball. Many roles in life she performed with zeal Teacher, mentor, leader were not a big deal Barbara's most important role was that of Erin's mother She above all knows there will never be another. A woman with musical talent she loved to sing As her voice resonated the tears she'd bring These memories are special and mean so much Her life was a miracle played out as such. Accomplishments and accolades we are here to proclaim And this keen awareness we seek to obtain The person we called Barbara was true to the end God's gift to us all--Barbara MacNeil-- our friend.
