School Fundraising Opportunities

The following fundraising opportunities are available to all school sites. Principals should work with the school community to determine which opportunities, if any, are appropriate for your site. Once you have decided to participate, please ensure that teachers, staff members, parents, community members, partners and sponsors are informed so your site can enjoy the full benefits of these programs.

Read the Board Report for item E.11.b.  regarding fundraising requirements from the September 14, 2004 Board of Education meeting.

Please review Administrative Procedures 2265  and 9325  for specific guidelines for school fundraisers. Remember that a recent policy change requires that "fundraisers may not be conducted concurrently with instructional activities."

    Adopt A Classroom

Adopt A Classroom
Adopt a classroom is a nationwide program which partners donors with needy classrooms. Teachers can sign up, and donors can find their classrooms to donate money for use in special partner vendors’ stores for everything from basic supplies to instructional technology tools. Tools are available to parents, administrators and volunteers to help promote the program beyond giving by encouraging direct contact between the recipients and donors, and providing accountability by itemizing the teachers’ use of donated funds and making it available online.

    NeuWaste

NeuWaste Business Recycling
NBR will help your organization raise funds through the recycling of E-waste, the fastest-growing source of waste in the world. The company will come to your school, present information on their recycling efforts, help notify the public of the date to bring material and which materials are accepted. NBR then will come with a team of employees, trucks, and packaging equipment for an efficient and clean collection. Participants who choose to make use of the collection effort are invited to stay in their car while NBR unloads waste from it. Donors confirm their California residency and, in return, they can leave an unlimited amount of electronic waste. Schools holding fundraisers are paid for every pound of waste collected, which is then recycled into new products. For more information, contact Christian Muller at Christian@neuwaste.com, or visit their website, NeuWaste.
