The last day of school for students on traditional calendar is Monday, June 16. The last day of school for year-round schools is Monday, July 21. |

Classified Employee Reassignments |
Assignment letters to classified employees affected by bumping/reassignment went out on Thursday, June 5, via regular US mail. The letters state that the deadline to return the acceptance or denial of an assignment is June 9. The deadline has been extended to 5 p.m., on Friday, June 13. Any employee who received a bumping/reassignment letter last April and has not received a June assignment letter should call the Classified Employee Hotline at (619) 725-8101. If an employee received a layoff letter in April and does not receive a June letter, it indicates that the layoff is effective June 30.
The hotline is available for questions and information from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday - Friday. If all phone lines are busy, please leave a detailed message, including employee ID number and contact information. All calls will be returned within 48 hours. Employees can also visit the Classification and Recruitment Office between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday - Friday, in Annex 9 at the Education Center. Affected employees should call the hotline or visit Annex 9 rather than send e-mails to Human Resources personnel.

Post and Bid for Year-Round Summer School Certificated Positions Begins June 10 |
Wilson Middle School is hosting the Year-Round Summer School Program for eighth grade students recommended for retention. The session will be held July 22 through August 15. Certificated applications for eligible employees will be available online on Tuesday, June 10, in the Quick Links section on the Employment website. The application deadline is Monday, June 23. Office Depot Website Added to PeopleSoft Module |
|
The website used to order office and classroom supplies from Office Depot has been added to the district PeopleSoft eProcurement module. Schools and departments accessing the site will see the familiar Office Depot website but now have access to all the functionality within PeopleSoft’s requisitioning system when finalizing an order. Newly Adopted Instructional Materials |
The Board of Education recently adopted new instructional materials in the following areas: college, career & technical education; English language arts; history/social science; language acquisition/world languages; mathematics; science; special education; and visual and performing arts. New ERAA Back to School Conference & Festival |
The New Everybody Recommitting to Academic Achievement Conference (ERAA) is holding its fourth annual Back to School Conference & Festival on Saturday, August 23, at Lincoln High School. The theme of this free back to school conference is Students Achieving and Succeeding. The purpose of the conference is to help parents and students activate their knowledge, skills, and resources to work together to achieve and succeed. - Service-Learning Discover Course for Educators
Volunteer San Diego is offering a full-day Engaging Students in Service: The Comprehensive Service-Learning Training on Tuesday, June 24, and Wednesday, July 30, from 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. The course can be taken as a Discover Course for .5 district credit. Principals, teachers, staff and parents are encouraged to attend. The registration fee is $50. However, $30 registration fee waivers for the June 24 course are available on a first-come, first-served basis. - Discover Program June Offerings

- New Elementary Science Program

Wondering what to do with the extra neckties hanging in the closet? Donate them to the "Ties for Teens" project aimed at assisting teens dress appropriately for job interviews.
