The district is holding a public auction starting at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, at the
Supply Center Yard, 2351 Cardinal Lane, 92123. Obsolete, no parts available, and beyond economical
repair furniture and equipment will be for sale. Arrive at 9 a.m. to preview items and to
register. A $200 cash refundable deposit is required to receive a bidder number. For

Suicide Prevention Workshop
The San Diego County Association of School Psychologists is sponsoring a Suicide
Prevention
workshop on Tuesday, December 11, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Marina Village. The featured
speaker is Richard Lieberman, a leading presenter and author on suicide prevention.

Study Spanish in Mexico
San Diego City College is offering its intensive Spanish immersion program in Cuernavaca,
Mexico during summer 2008. There is a two-week program from June 28 - July 12, and a
four-week program from June 28 - July 26. Each option includes 25 hours of language

Fleet Center Brings Family Science Nights to Schools
|
|
The Reuben H. Fleet Science Center has a number of outreach programs designed to introduce
pre-K to 8 grade students and their families to science.
Family
Science Nights provide students, parents and teachers with hands-on science experiences
that provide standards-based investigations (in English and Spanish) in a fun atmosphere.

Spirit of Giving

Volunteer San Diego’s “A Visit from Saint Nicholas” program will deliver backpacks filled
with toys and books to thousands of under-served K-2 students on Thursday, December 6. Students

Cox
Kids Foundation Heroes Scholarship
program awards up to $10,000 to qualified students living in a Cox Communications service area.

Gates Millennium Scholars Program is now accepting
nominations of outstanding students who have significant financial need and leadership

Hispanic Scholarship Fund
provides the Latino community more college scholarships and educational outreach support than any other
