Last Day for Students at Traditional Calendar Schools
Tuesday, June 19, is the last for students at traditional calendar schools. The last day for students at year-round schools is Friday, July 20.

SDUSD is currently conducting an Employee Satisfaction Survey to get feedback on district strengths and areas for improvement. Everyone is encouraged to take a few minutes to complete the survey by Friday, June 15. All responses will remain anonymous and confidential. Survey results will be made available in the fall. Review Newly Adopted Instructional Materials
The Board of Education recently adopted new instructional materials in K-8 history/social science; earth science; marine science; physics; advanced physics; Spanish for Spanish speakers; Japanese; algebra explorations; printmaking; and marketing. The new materials can be reviewed Monday through Friday at the Instructional Materials Department, located at the back of the Instructional Media Center (IMC), between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. In addition, online resources for history/social science, marine science, earth science and Spanish for Spanish speakers are available for review. New 2007-08 Magnet Schools
Three new magnet schools Adobe PDF will open in the fall: Barnard Elementary Mandarin Chinese Language Program, Birney Elementary Academy of International Studies and Florence Griffith Joyner Elementary MicroSociety Magnet School. The deadline for families to receive Priority Application status is Friday, June 29. For information, visit the Enrollment Options website.
2007-08 OCILE Schedule Available Online
The 2007-08 schedule Adobe PDF for Off-Campus Integrated Learning Experiences (OCILE) is now posted on the program’s website. OCILE includes the Old Town, Balboa Park and Mt. Palomar programs.
Moodle Summer Upgrade and End-of-Year Course Maintenance
A major Moodle upgrade will take place this summer between July 25 and August 20. During the upgrade, Moodle will be completely offline and all student work will be deleted. Moodle users should visit the Educational Technology (EdTech) website for instructions on what to do before the upgrade takes place. Ed Tech Summer Camp 2007 for Teachers
There’s still time to sign-up for Ed Tech’s annual Summer Camp for Teachers. This year's professional development sessions will focus on two State EdTech Profile Standards: Standard 9 - Using technology in instruction, and Standard 16 - Using technology to engage students in their curriculum work. 2007 AGELE National Conference
The Association for Gender Equity Leadership in Education (AGELE) Adobe PDF national conference will be held in San Diego, July 8 – 11, at the Mission Valley Marriott. Funding Alert
Grant Rewards Teacher/Media Specialist Collaboration
The Thomson Gale TEAMS Award recognizes and encourages the collaboration between the teacher and media specialist to promote learning and increase student achievement. Three K-12 schools will receive $2,500 cash award and other prizes. Nominations must be postmarked no later than September 6, 2007.

Westwind Brass Summer Workshop
A five-day Summer Brass Workshop Adobe PDF for high school, college, and adult brass players will be held at San Diego State University and Rancho Bernardo High School. Support Adapted P. E.
The Adapted Physical Education Department is selling tickets to the La Jolla Festival of the Arts,to be held June 23 - 24. The event raises money to benefit individuals with disabilities in the San Diego area. The tickets are $10 and a portion of the proceeds support the Adapted PE program.
