significant contributions to the education, safety, and well-being of our students. It’s a good time to thank

PeopleSoft Financials 8.9 Upgrade is Coming this Fall
Improvements to eProcurement, Travel Expenses, and other tasks in PeopleSoft Financials will be available in fall
2007. (The upgrade will not affect HR tasks.) The Information Technology (I.T.) Department is developing new
manuals and interactive tutorials to assist employees when the new application is released. Watch for future

Community Service/Service-Learning Training for Educators
The Community Relations Department and Volunteer San Diego are offering
“Service Learning 101”
on Thursday, May 24, from 4 to 6:30 p.m., at the United Way Building, 4699 Murphy Canyon Road. Principals, teachers, staff
and parents are invited to attend this “hands-on” training that will explore the elements of creating effective projects
that integrate community service with academic learning. To register, go to

Target and the American Architectural Foundation are looking for students in grades 9-12 to stimulate new ideas for the

Support Adapted P.E. Department
The Adapted Physical Education (P.E.) Department is selling tickets to the La
Jolla Festival of the Arts scheduled for the weekend of June 23 & 24. This event raises money to benefit
San Diegans with disabilities. Tickets are $10 each and a portion of the proceeds will support the Adapted P.E.
