All district-wide applications (DWA) and Internet services will be unavailable from outside the district network
(home or Internet café) on Saturday, May 12, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for an upgrade of key hardware. This outage
will impact district e-mail, ZangleConnection, Gradebook, PeopleSoft, Encore, and district websites. Access to
district-wide applications from within the district network, including classrooms, will not be interrupted.
District Wide Banking and Procurement Move to Wells Fargo Bank
On April 10, the Board approved an agreement
between SDUSD and Wells Fargo Bank to provide district wide banking and procurement card services, including ASB
bank and investment accounts, treasury management services, positive pay, Automated Clearing House (ACH) and wire
services, and armored car services. The transition from U. S. Bank to Wells Fargo Bank will take place in phases.
Central Office bank accounts will be converted first, followed by school sites. Sites should continue to use
banking supplies on hand and limit orders of new materials until their site is converted. Contact Julie Nguyen

Mandatory Reporting of Serious Injury, Illness, or Death
The State of California requires employers to immediately report any serious injury, illness, or death of an
employee occurring at work or in connection with employment to Cal/OSHA by telephone at (619) 767-2280 or fax to
(619) 767-2299. A serious injury or illness requires inpatient hospitalization for a period of more than 24
hours for other than medical observation. In the event of a district on-the-job or work-related serious injury,
illness, or death, notify the Risk Management Department immediately. Failure to report can result in an
investigation by Cal/OSHA and a citation with penalties up to $5,000. For information, go to the

District Master Calendar Posted
A District Master Calendar
is now posted on the website. Designed to help employees track and plan major district events, the calendar is managed by the
Teacher Preparation and Student Support Division. Departments should consult the calendar for date availability prior to
scheduling any major district event; then submit a
Master Calendar Submission Form
for final date approval. Every effort will be made to accommodate a request. If there’s a conflict, Teacher
Prep and Student Support will help facilitate the selection of an alternate date. Once a date is confirmed,

Textbook Ordering Workshop
The 2007-08 Textbook Ordering Workshops for staff responsible for ordering instructional materials are being held
at the Kearny High Complex Library:

CSET Prep Courses
The district's Teacher Preparation and Student Support Division will offer California Subject Examinations for Teachers
(CSET) Prep Courses to prepare teachers for the July 21, 2007 exam. Classes begin Tuesday, June 5. Courses are
available in Single Subject English,
Single Subject Science,
Single Subject Mathematics,
and Multiple Subjects.
Courses are free for district employees; $60 for others. The registration form is due Tuesday, May 29, by 5 p.m.
