Nominate Your School Site’s Teacher of the Year
Recognize excellence. Nominations are now being accepted for school site 2007-08 Teacher of the Year Acrobat PDF candidates. The deadline to submit a nomination form MS Word is Friday, January 26. All nominated teachers will be recognized at the May 8 Board of Education meeting. Nominees also have the opportunity to apply to the district-level competition. School Foundation Fundraising Strategies
The third in a series of meetings for school-based education foundations is scheduled for Thursday, January 18, 2007, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., in the Education Center Auditorium. Topics include “Food Services for Fun,” presented by SDUSD Executive Chef Mark Mendoza; “Farmers’ Market Magic,” first-hand knowledge shared by Kroc/Madison parent/advocate Michael Peacock; and “Discovering Alumni,” presented by San Diego High School graduate Daryl Ferguson. SDSU Dept. of Educational Leadership Schedules Info Meetings
The San Diego State University Department of Educational Leadership will be holding six informational meetings Acrobat PDF in January for those interested in obtaining their Master’s degree in Educational Leadership PreK-12 and/or Preliminary Administrative Services Credential. Teacher Training for Spring 2007 International Economic Summit
The Archaeological Institute of America in partnership with the district's Discover Program is conducting a special teacher's workshop, Using Archaeology in the Classroom Acrobat PDF, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Saturday, January 6, at the San Diego Marriott and Marina. New Zealand Barbershop Group to Perform
The Musical Island Boys, a young men's barbershop group from New Zealand, will present a concert Acrobat PDF at Lewis Middle School on Tuesday, January 16, at 7 p.m. The Musical Island Boys are the 2006 International Collegiate Quartet Champions. San Diego Symphony Young People’s Concerts
What’s in a Score? Acrobat PDF, a program for students in grades K-8, will feature music by Oscar award-winning composer John Williams. Performances are scheduled on February 6 and 7, at 9:30 and 11 a.m., at Copley Symphony Hall. Tickets are $5. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration
The International House of Blues Foundation-San Diego (IHOBF-San Diego) will present its first annual program Acrobat PDF celebrating the life and contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, January 15, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The event is free of charge and open to the public.
