Brief Explanation:

Last year schools earned a total of approximately $210,000.00 under the district's Mandate Reimbursement Site Program. The mandates listed below may directly affect your school and could represent a significant amount of additional money for your site.

California English Language Dev. Test (CELDT) Physical Performance Testing
Caregiver Affidavits Pupil Classroom Suspension: Counseling
Emergency Procedures Pupil Promotion and Retention
Habitual Truants School Accountability Report Card (SARC)
High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) School Bus Safety II (Elementary Only)
Intradistrict Attendance School Safety PlansSchool Site Councils
Notice to Teachers School Site Councils
Parent Classroom Visits Standardized Testing and Reporting (SAT - 9)

As an incentive for completing the activity logs your school site will receive 20 percent of the district's paid reimbursement claim that is attributable to your site's reimbursable activity for each state-mandated activity and an additional 20 percent for any amounts that exceed the established average amounts for each school level (elementary-$3,664; middle/junior high-$14,116; senior high-$7,939; atypical-$2,248). In addition, you will receive 100 percent of the district's paid reimbursement claim for the time you and/or your staff spent completing each time sheet or activity log. There is space on the bottom of each activity log to identify the time spent completing these forms

Last year some of you provided us with data for the district's School Site Councils and Advisory Committees mandated cost claim. With little effort, your school can earn a minimum $22.00 for every meeting that is properly documented. The current method requires us to only report the meetings that were conducted and to provide documentation in the form of agendas, minutes or other documents that prove the meetings actually took place. In addition, your school will earn 100 percent of the district's paid reimbursement claim for the time it takes to gather, assemble, and attach the required documentation. Please return the completed activity logs, along with the required documentation to the Mandated Cost Unit, Eugene Brucker Education Center, Room 3159 by the deadline noted above.

For a complete listing of the mandates, and activity logs, visit the district's website, select "For District Staff" and link to the Mandated Reimbursement Program web page. To submit the time sheet or activity log electronically please follow these steps:

  1. Download the activity log.
  2. Completely fill out the document and type your name next to employee signature certifying your participation in the activity and that you've reported actual time.
  3. Place an "x" next to the number of minutes spent filling out this log. Send it via e-mail to mandcost@mail.sandi.net. Reference the e-mail by your site name.
  4. Maintain custody of the completed document.

We appreciate your time and effort and your continued support of this program. If you have any questions or need additional information concerning any mandate, please call Camille Chacon at (619) 725-7566 or Chuck Miller at (619) 725-7567.
