Brief Explanation:

 

We are pleased to announce that in preparation for the new school year, the Professional Development Unit will offer a Back-to-School Conference on August 22 and 23 at the Marina Village Conference Center, 1936 Quivira Way. The purpose of the conference is to provide technical, operational and informational support to prepare employees for a successful school year. Updates on changes in policies, procedures and expectations will be provided. The target audience is school site office support staff. Please note the conference will be held the end of August in order to minimize disruption at sites during the preparatory activities for starting school, as well as to encourage good participation. The Schoolhouse Rocks theme with 1950's words, music and decorations will be used throughout the conference. Workshop details are shown in Attachment One.

Registration:

Registration for the conference will take place from May 8, 2002, to May 23, 2002. To register for the conference, please access the district's website at www.sandi.net, click "For District Staff," click "Back-to-School Conference for Classified Office Staff," and complete the following steps:

    1. On the conference home page, click "Registration."
    2. Select the date or dates you wish to attend from the drop-down menu.
    3. Enter the information requested in every field: last name, first name, position title, work location, e-mail address and work phone number. (Please note that an e-mail address is required, as all notices and communications regarding the conference will be transmitted electronically. If you do not have a Quickmail account, your school or department e-mail address may be used, in which case the school or department secretary must ensure that all notifications are provided to the enrollee.)
    4. Please fill out the on-line survey.
    5. Click "Submit."
    6. A confirmation screen "Information Received" indicates a successful transmission. The enrollee will subsequently receive a registration confirmation in a separate e-mail, once availability for the requested date is confirmed.
