Sites will receive
budget information regarding allocations to purchase (a) state/district-adopted
instructional materials from the SIM inventory at the IMC and (b) materials
that are on the state-approved list. All other instructional materials
must be purchased from the site SIM non-matrix budget account or from
other site funds.
To assist sites
ordering new adoption materials, as well as growth and replacement materials,
the Instructional Materials Services Unit has prepared pre-printed order
forms.
- 2002-2003
NEW ADOPTIONS, GRADES K-6
Mathematics,
Grades K-5
On February
26, 2002, the Board of Education approved the adoption of Harcourt
Math for Mathematics, grades K-5. The Mathematics Department is
in the process of planning staff development inservices to be held
during the summer. To accommodate the inservices and to allow teachers
to review the teacher materials before the opening of school in
September 2002, the Mathematics Department requested early delivery
of the materials. Order forms were sent to sites during March and
orders placed during April. We anticipate that materials will arrive
at your site in late May or early June. Pupil editions may be distributed
to students in September. Additional information is provided in
the packet.
Functional
Math, Grades K-5
The Board of
Education approved the adoption of new mathematics instructional
materials for Functional Math, grades K-5. Sites with integrated
life skills (ILS) classrooms will receive a wide variety of teacher
resource materials. The mathematics materials will packaged in containers
and sent to appropriate sites during the summer. A list of sites
receiving the new materials is included in your packet, along with
a list of the instructional materials.
- MATERIALS
FOR ADDITIONAL CLASSROOMS
Classroom materials
are available at no charge to sites with increased enrollments that
add additional classrooms. To qualify as a new classroom and be
eligible to receive no-charge teacher materials, the following criteria
must be met: 1) the hiring of an additional teacher and 2) an increase
in the number of classrooms over the previous year. A reconfiguration
does not qualify as a new classroom. To request materials,
please complete the New Classroom Budget/Order Form, Grades K-6,
and send to Anna Cornett. After verification of new classrooms,
materials will be issued to the site.
Please note
that New Classroom Budget/Order Forms will not be filled unless
an administrator is at the site. In the event the forms are received
while a site is on intersession, the order will be filled when the
administrator returns.
- FUNDING INFORMATION
Funding information is provided in your packet; please retain for
future reference.
