Brief Explanation: |

|
The list of tentative positions for the 2002 Summer School Program will be viewable on-line. Summer school sessions will begin on the following dates: Senior High schools, June 24 - August 2, 2002; Middle schools, June 24 - July 26, 2002; Elementary schools, June 24 - July 19, 2002. The seven-week session (all enrichment courses) will be held June 19 - August 6, 2002. Please apprise staff of the on-line posting process. How to Apply: Directions for applying on-line can be accessed through the San Diego City Schools Human Resource Services Division website at www2.sandi.net/personnel. Certificated permanent and probationary staff, who would like to be considered for summer school teaching assignments, must complete the on-line transfer application form. Only teachers with effective performance evaluations (in all areas) are eligible to apply. Directions for applying for summer school positions should be reviewed carefully. The deadline for applying for summer school positions is April 19, 2002, at midnight. Submitting an application does not guarantee an assignment for summer school, and is tentative due to the fact that some classes can be closed because of low student enrollment. Notification of tentative assignments could be made as late as the onset of the summer program. Listed below are some general guidelines used in the selection of the summer school staff:
The summer school program provides for five hours per day of instruction for elementary and middle schools and up to six hours per day for senior high schools. Summer school staff members are expected to arrive in time to be ready for the pupils. School program operational duties include, but are not limited to, normal communication, pupil supervision, parent conferences, etc. Other hours are for school operational duties and include mandatory professional development for all five-hour instructional assignments. For teachers teaching less than five hours, professional development is strongly recommended but not mandatory. The summer/intersession salary is viewable on the district's website www2.sandi.net/personnel/pdf/SalaryScheds/SummerSchool01.pdf.
