Brief Explanation:

The September pay warrants for members of San Diego Education Association (SDEA), Peace Officers Association (POA), and the Management Team included an additional five percent salary increase. This increase is the result of recent negotiations relative to the agreement with employee contracts to add all of the revenue limit deficit funding to the salary schedule. A separate retro salary payment for the months of July and August of 2000 was processed on October 13, 2000.

At this time, no other employee bargaining units have agreed to any changes in their contract that would result in members receiving any adjustment to their salaries. These remaining bargaining units will receive a 2000/2001 retro salary increase based on the contract language in July 2001.

The district will fund all school sites and departments for the retro salary increase for SDEA, POA, and the Management Team positions from July 1 to September 1, 2000. School sites and departments will be responsible for salaries after September 1, 2000. In addition, the district will fund all school sites and departments for the retro salary payment, occurring in the summer of 2001, for Office-Technical and Business Services, Operations-Support Services, and Paraeducators bargaining units.
