The Strategic Plan for Integration (1993) calls for all administrators to "receive training to improve the educational opportunities for all students, demonstrate cultural sensitivity, and resolve conflict among staff and students." The Race/Human Relations Academy offers workshops that are designed to meet the needs of district staff. The Race/Human Relations Academy courses extend beyond the material covered at site race/human relations meetings. Emphasis is placed on addressing the problems facing sites and central offices, and providing practical, realistic solutions. Ample opportunity is scheduled into each course for discussion and sharing of positive practices. Workshops are open to all district staff. The Academy brochure, which will be sent under separate cover, describes the content of workshops offered and lists dates and times. Registration information may be found on page 2. Workshop capacity is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Certificates will be awarded to participants upon course completion. If you have any questions regarding courses listed in this brochure,
please call (858) 490-8678. |
