Brief Explanation: |
|||
| During the week of May 7 - 11, 2001, San
Diego City Schools will recognize the Day of the Teacher.
At that time, the Board of Education will honor the nominated teacher
representative from each site and announce the districts Teachers of the Year. San Diego Education Association (SDEA) and the San
Diego Unified School District are collaborating in the selection process. Attached are the General
Instructions for the 2001-2002 District Teacher of the Year competition (see Attachment 3).
Nominees for the districts Teacher of the Year are required to submit
the one-page application (Attachment 2), an essay, and six letters of
recommendation. Finalists will be
notified of a timeline for interviews and classroom observations. From these finalists, three teachers will be
chosen as San Diego City Schools Teachers of the Year one from each of these
levels: elementary, middle/junior high, and senior high school. The three winners will then be eligible to enter
the County Teacher of the Year competition. |
