In support of the board policy on student achievement, applications are being accepted for the 2001-2002 Student Advocacy Recognition Awards Program. The purpose of the Recognition Awards Program is to support those school sites that have developed and maintained Student Advocacy programs. These programs must be consistent with Student Advocacy guidelines and have been in operation for a period of at least two (2) years. Programs must have demonstrated innovative approaches to student success. Schools that receive recognition awards must be willing to continue and expand their programs, as well as their involvement with the central office. Schools are encouraged to apply for the Recognition Awards Program using the attached application. Applications must be received no later that 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2001. Applications will be reviewed by the Student Advocacy Advisory Committee to determine award recipients. Pending approval of the 2001-2002 budget, schools will be notified accordingly.
