California Education Code states that school plans should be reviewed annually by the School Site Council and, if necessary, modified to respond to changing student needs. While schools may revise plans at any time throughout the school year, a reminder is sent each fall by the Categorical Program Support office to ensure that the School Site Council has fulfilled its responsibilities. The six high schools with School Advisory Committees should involve that group in the completion of the Annual Plan Assurances page and any Annual Action Plan modifications.

Attached is the appropriate assurances page for each level; elementary, middle, junior high, and senior high. The 2000-2001 page has been updated to include Blueprint for Student Success strategies, and an opportunity to indicate additional Blueprint strategies if your elementary site is a Focus School. As always, the signatures of the SSC or SAC Chairperson, parent and teacher members, and principal verify that the council/committee and school have collaborated to decide which of the statements on the assurances page are appropriate for their site.

Please complete the assurances page appropriate for your school level and submit it by December 8, 2000 to Kelly Mutschler, Categorical Program Support, IMC Building D.
