In accordance with Administrative Procedure 6190, an official enrollment forecast for 2001-02 was presented to and approved by the board on January 30, 2001. Since that date, staff has received additional data and board direction related to boundary changes, program changes, residential development, and other factors that have led to the revision of enrollment forecasts for several school sites. A revised forecast is attached. Please distribute it to appropriate staff. School enrollments that have changed by more than 10 students since the January 30 forecast are shown in bold type. Most of the changes to the January 30 forecast can be explained by Special Education assignments, boundary changes, enrollment cappings, or grade reconfigurations approved by the board since that time. In addition, the Charter School of San Diego anticipates a significant enrollment increase for 2001-02. No new charter schools are included in the enrollment forecasts. Recent contact with representatives of the proposed Global Learning, San Diego Cooperative, and Audeo Charter Schools suggest that they will not be ready to open by September 2001. If their plans change, or if yet unknown charter schools open in September, the balance between district-run and charter schools will change. The enrollment forecast for the district overall now stands at 143,969, an increase of 1,709 or 1.2 percent from the official 2000-01 enrollment of 142,260. The January 30, 2001, enrollment forecast was 143,909, an increase of 1,649 or 1.16 percent from the official 2000-01 enrollment. The attached enrollment forecast
