|
The list of tentative positions for the 2001 Summer School Program will be viewable on-line by going to the Human Resource Services Division website, www.sandi.net/personnel. Summer school sessions will begin on the following dates: senior high schools June 25 – August 3, 2001; middle school and elementary schools June 25 – July 27, 2001. Please apprise staff of the on-line posting process. HOW TO APPLY Directions for applying on-line are attached and can also be accessed through the San Diego City Schools Human Resource Services Division website at www.sandi.net/personnel. The list of summer school positions can be viewed by permanent or probationary certificated staff on any computer system that can access the World Wide Web. Certificated permanent and probationary staff who would like to be considered for summer school teaching assignments, must complete an on-line transfer application form. Only teachers with effective performance evaluations (in all areas) are eligible to apply. Teachers who have already completed a transfer application form for the May 2001 Post and Bid, do not need to create a new account. They may log in directly to the (summer school) transfer application form. Directions for applying for summer school positions should be reviewed carefully. The deadline for applying for summer school positions is May 25, 2001, at midnight. Late applicants, leave replacement teachers, temporary contracted teachers, and visiting teachers who would like to be considered for summer school positions may e-mail Jose Delao, jdelao@mail.sandi.net for interest in elementary schools, Pam Mecklenborg, pmecklen@mail.sandi.net for interest in secondary schools, and Ann Cato, acato@mail.sandi.net for interest in Special Education. The above listed applicants will only be considered for positions that remain unfilled after all permanent and probationary teachers have been offered assignments. Submitting an application does not guarantee an assignment for summer school, and all assignments are tentative due to the fact that some classes can be closed because of low student enrollment. Notification of tentative assignments could be made as late as the onset of the summer program.Listed below are some general guidelines used in the selection of the summer school staff. Most recent performance evaluation (must be effective in all areas) Grade level, subject, training, recency of experience and credentials Availability to work the entire summer session District seniority Recency of summer employment The summer school program provides for 5 hours per day of instruction for elementary and middle schools and up to 6 hours per day for senior high schools. Summer school staff members are expected to arrive in time to be ready for the pupils. School program operational duties include, but are not limited to, normal communication, pupils supervision, parent conferences, etc. Other hours are for school operational duties and include mandatory professional development at elementary and middle schools. Senior high schools professional development is strongly recommended but not mandatory.
