Brief Explanation:

Additional training sessions have been scheduled for site staff interested in using the Standards, Assessment and Accountability Department’s Student Achievement Data System. This system enables staff to view and sort student achievement data from standardized tests, district assessments, report cards, and site-based alternative assessments. It offers additional access to student achievement data beyond that currently available through AERIES or SIS data queries. Attachment 1 illustrates some of the system capabilities.

Use of the system is voluntary. However, to ensure system security and appropriate use, attendance at a training session is required prior to accessing the data system. Due to continued site interest, two additional training sessions have been scheduled for May 30 and 31, 2001. Reservations are required due to training room capacity. Please complete the reservation form (Attachment 2) and return it by May 11, 2001, to Gloria Ustica, Accountability and Research Office, Eugene Brucker Education Center, Room 3110. You will receive a confirmation prior to the training session.

Questions about the training sessions or about computer system configurations should be directed to Karin Alvarado, microcomputer applications training specialist, 619-725-7197. General questions may be directed to Sally Bennett at 619-725-7190.
