Under
separate cover sites will receive their first Choice wait list for the
2001-2002 school year. Beginning April 16, 2001, sites may also view their
list online. To access your list, see the guide for Using Enrollment
Options Reports also being sent to you under separate cover. The Choice
wait list has been randomized, ranked, and sorted by grade level in the
following order. Students should be accepted in the order of the list.
Please note the following: Specialized Course or Training A student who has been given a Choice priority for "specialized course or training" is required to take the specialized course or training for which they received the priority. Students enrolled with a specialized course priority may remain at the school as a Choice student as long as they remain enrolled in the special course or course sequence. Choice students enrolled for specialized courses are to be coded in the district client-server as CH2. It is important to note that the Choice program does not provide specialized course priority for various athletics programs nor carry athletic eligibility. Students desiring athletic exceptions should contact the director of Educational and School Services for rules and regulations (Ref. Procedure 4172). Students requesting specialized course priority will be randomized for the specialized course list and for the general request list in case the specialized course is not offered. Out-of-District Students State legislation stipulates that students who reside out-of-district may not displace a district student. Students who reside out of the district must file an Interdistrict Attendance Permit to attend a school in the district. Approval of the Interdistrict Attendance Permit does not guarantee enrollment in a particular school, even if the student formerly resided in the school’s boundaries. Out-of-district students must also apply through Choice or Magnet to be enrolled at a particular school. Please be aware that out-of-district students will always be the last priority, even as names are added to subsequent Choice lists.
