Brief Explanation:

 

On May 21, 2001, the district’s Parent Involvement Task Force will host a celebration event to acknowledge and honor parents, community members, and staff members who have made outstanding efforts to strengthen the district’s parent involvement programs at schools. Recognition is also given to school sites that have outstanding parent centers, parent programs, events, or home-school newsletters. For information, refer to "Six Keys to Successful School-Family-Community Partnerships" (Attachment B). In addition, home-school newsletters will be evaluated using the attached newsletter guidelines (Attachment C).

A nomination form is attached (Attachment A). Please distribute this form to school staff, School Site Council, Site Governance Team, English Learner Advisory Committee, Parent Teacher Association, and other school site parent organizations. Forms must be returned no later than April 6, 2001. Approximately 30 individuals/organizations will be honored on May 21, 2001, at the Parent Involvement Task Force Recognition Event.
