Brief Explanation:

The Race/Human Relations and Guidance Department has been reorganized. The department name is now Planning, Development, Evaluation, and Reporting. The Race/Human Relations Program is part of this department. For the 2000-01 school year we will utilize a site representative, however, the site representative will not receive special training or remuneration.

It is recommended that the administrator and site representative attend Race/Human Relations Academy trainings relevant to their site's needs.

Please select a staff member to serve as a race/human relations site representative.

The site representative should:

• Be a full-time certificated employee.

• Demonstrate leadership and commitment to integration, the Race/Human Relations Program, and the district's goals.

• Serve on or chair the Race/Human Relations Committee and assist with the writing of the Integration Section of the Annual Action Plan.

• Communicate with the Planning, Development, Evaluation, and Reporting Department.

Please complete the attachment and return to Beverly Johnson at Pacific Beach Center by October 9, 2000.
