The Board of Education has requested that
enrollment of nonresident students for Choice, Magnet, VEEP, and Choice
Programs be monitored to ensure that district procedures have been
followed. Sites were informed that documentation of student/parent
contacts and enrollments were to be kept on the Student Enrollment List
for Magnet and VEEP via several administrative circulars. This year the
Choice lists did not have a disposition column. However, many sites also
documented Choice contacts/enrollments. Please return Choice documentation
with your VEEP and Magnet documentation. Next year, Choice will be aligned
with VEEP and Magnet, and the Choice lists will have a column to note
disposition.
Please return one copy of your Magnet, VEEP, and Choice Student Enrollment List with the following documentation:
The Magnet, VEEP, and Choice Student Enrollment Lists should be sent to the Enrollment Options Office, Eugene Brucker Education Center by Thursday, October 5, 2000. Please retain a copy of the lists and documentation at the site. Students who applied for VEEP and Magnet prior to 9/3/99 will remain on the list for one more year unless they have been enrolled, declined, or you have indicated they should be removed from the list. No other students will carry over on next year’s list. Students who were not enrolled, but are still interested in your program, must reapply to be on next year’s list. Remind parents that applications filed between October 2, 2000 and March 15, 2001 receive priority for Magnet, VEEP, and Choice lists.
