| Brief Explanation: The SPEDLEP office provides annual inservice training for classified interpreters. A trained interpreter is provided at Student Study Team (SST) or Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings if the parent(s) is not fluent in English. Classified personnel at your site who serve as interpreters, and plan to continue interpreting, are strongly encouraged to attend one of the following training sessions if they have not already received training. Training sessions will be held at Dana Center, Room 269, 1775 Chatsworth Blvd.:
All participants will be reimbursed for time in excess of their normal working hours. Participants may either fax or mail the Interpreter Training Registration form to: Special Education English Learners Department, Dana Center, Room 201 If additional information is needed, please contact Maria Potter, diagnostic resource teacher, Special Education English Learners Department, at (619) 225-3601. A confirmation of registration will not be returned to participants. |
