provided electronically. It will follow with a hard copy of the circular
to each school site.
Attached you will find the fourth student enrollment list for Magnet, VEEP, and/or Choice applicants. This list includes names of students that have applied between July 7, 2000 and August 15, 2000. Applications received during this timeframe have been added to the lists in date/time order with all out-of-district students remaining at the bottom of the list. Schools are reminded that all names ahead of new applicants must be offered enrollment before new applicants can be enrolled. Schools are not to enroll nonresident students outside this process. The use of the SIP process to circumvent or give preference to certain students is not allowed. Enrollment of nonresident students who have not applied through Choice, Magnet, or VEEP and coding them Choice, Magnet, or VEEP, is a violation of the State Education Code and district policy. Applications received in the Enrollment Options Office between August 15, 2000 – September 1, 2000 (the last working day before school starts) will be faxed to schools and may be enrolled by schools if all names on your list have been accommodated and space is available. Applications received in this timeframe at school sites may be enrolled in date/time order and the application faxed to the Enrollment Options Office (619) 692-0269. The names will be added to your list. It is anticipated that a fifth list will be sent to schools after winter break for semester openings. Schools have until September 18, 2000 (10 working days) in which they may offer students on their wait list enrollment. Students on wait lists not offered enrollment by this date may be considered for openings for the semester/intersession if space permits. It is important that all schools maintain accurate student address information in the district client server system. The Enrollment Options Office uses the student address in the client server as the student’s valid address. Schools are requested to verify addresses of nonresident students. VEEP students must reside in the boundaries of the site’s VEEP pattern. Magnet students are not to be offered enrollment if the district address is inaccurate and the student’s actual address places the student in a lower priority than you are enrolling. Please document the results of your contacts in the disposition column. Your will be asked to return a list with this documentation in the fall. Reminder: A transportation application form must be completed and
sent to the Transportation Department for each enrolled Magnet or VEEP
student wanting transportation. The Choice program does not provide
transportation. If you need additional transportation forms, please call
the Enrollment Options Office at (691) 725-5672. |
