Brief Explanation:

In accordance with the Collective Negotiations Contract, and the attached Agreement between San Diego City Schools and San Diego Education Association regarding Elementary Mathematics Specialists selection process (July 7, 2000), a list of expected position vacancies will be sent to each certificated bargaining unit member. Eligible staff members are encouraged to submit bids for transfer and have the responsibility to correctly complete scan sheets and submit prior to due date.

ELIGIBILITY

Bids are limited to permanent, full-time contract teachers of San Diego City Schools whose services are compensated on the K-12 Certificated Salary Schedule and who possess a valid California teaching credential. In addition, it is preferred that three of the last five years be in the classroom teaching environment (as per mentor definition in California Education Code). All completed bid scan sheets must be received in the Human Resource Services Division (HRSD), Room 1241, Eugene Brucker Education Center, no later than August 11, 2000, by 5:00 p.m.

CALENDAR CHANGES

Successful bidders who are currently assigned on a traditional schedule and transferring to a year-round schedule will develop an individual work calendar in order to complete a full contract work year. Teachers transferring from a year-round to a traditional schedule will automatically change from a year-round (12-month pay) to the traditional (10-month pay) schedule or opt to stay on a year-round pay schedule for one year only; the following year will revert to the traditional 10-month pay schedule.
