Technotes

Our web page is created as a service to the students and staff of Sunset View Elementary School and in support of  the San Diego Unified School District.

Our mission, first and foremost, is to serve the needs of the students of Sunset View and to provide educational resources for our staff and parents. Our web page is truly a learning portal which allows students to explore the world in a manner that supports our educational goals while at the same time energizing the spirit of inquiry.

Links For Students & Teachers

Try Out These New Links!

November 2, 2008

The other day someone referred to this site as “the old school web page”. Well, I guess it depends on your perspective. This site hasn’t been the Sunset View home page for two years. The Sunset View home page is Sunsetviewelementary.com.

No, this page is the Sunset View Student and Staff Page. It is maintained as an additional resource for the students and staff (and parents) of Sunset View.

The educational links on this page are frequently updated. The front page is designed to give students one-click access to as many meaningful links as possible. It is used most frequently in classrooms and especially in the computer lab. We do like to keep the calendar current and have tried our best to update staff email addresses so if you see a problem with any information on this page, give me a call or an email.

Also, if you have a website that you think should be included, we really enjoy hearing from you. In the world of educational websites, there seems to be something new popping up each week.

Finally, last month I included the paragraph below to explain Sunset View’s Technology Standards. I’ll leave it alone for one more month. Please have a look!

TECHNOLOGY STANDARDS

Wanna know what technology skills your child should learn? Four years ago, SSV staff rewrote the ISTE standards to “fit” our students at Sunset View. Our standards can be found at this website: http://www2.sandi.net/ssv/techstandards/index.htm so have a look and tell us what you think.
