10th Annual Cush Legs for Literacy Event - Please note that the
10th annual CUSH Legs for Literacy Event will be held in the

wonderful community event, please contact the co-chairs of next
year’s event: Cherie Enge at

2008 Taste of the Ranch – I am pleased to report that the 2008
Taste of the Ranch event at the Scripps Ranch Library was very
successful, raising more than $33,000 for the Foundation and
$12,000 for designated SRHS clubs and teams. Thanks so much to
Sandy Price for a great job in chairing this event. The
following clubs / teams earned money through the event: Academic
League, Band, Baseball, Men & Women’s Basketball, Cheer, Choir,
Cross Country, Drama, Football, Men & Women’s Golf, Men &
Women’s Lacrosse, ROTC, Men & Women’s Soccer, Softball, Swim,
Men & Women’s Tennis, Track & Field, Men & Women’s Volleyball,
Men & Women’s Water Polo and Wrestling. Important: the funds
raised for the clubs and teams have been deposited directly into
the SRHS ASB accounts and can be accessed by the coach / advisor
through Vickie Davis at
vdavis2@sandi.net Swartz
How the money was spent 2007/2008 - Thanks to incredibly strong
community support, the Foundation raised more than $126,000 this
year to enrich the experience of our students. These funds were
raised through the CUSH Legs for Literacy Event, Taste of the
Ranch Event, Family & Business Donations (with company matching)
and eScrip. This year, the funds were used to pay off the debt
on the $1.8MM Turf & Truck project, fund $55,000 in technology
improvements in the classroom, build our endowment to almost
$200,000, and fund a variety of requests for clubs, athletics,
academics and facilities. Additionally, please join us in
congratulating the recipients of the 4 scholarships from the
Foundation, totaling $2,500: Nikka Saadat, Sarabjit Chagar,
Gabriella Villadolid and Kristen Lopez. These awards were
presented at Senior Awards night in June. Swartz
