Dear Students and Parents:

Welcome to Jean Farb Middle School! If you are looking for a small neighborhood middle school with a culture of college readiness for all students come to Farb Middle School; an AVID National Demonstration School! Why not bring your whole family and take a tour of our campus. Principal Courtney Rizzo would be honored to meet you and your family and tell you about the exciting programs we have to offer! Safety and high academic achievement are our first priorities. Teachers and staff provide a family atmosphere where everyone belongs and individual strengths are challenged.

Here is this week's Sunday Update:

As we head into our last week before our Spring Break, there is a lot of things happening at Farb.  But I first want to congratulate our Band and Chorus who participated in their     first competition at Disneyland this past Saturday.  The band placed 3rd overall and the chorus came in first place.  We are so proud of all of our students for their hard work and a special thank you to our music director, Robin Dye for making it possible.  This week is ASB Spirit Week and Monday is Rock Star Day, so get your out your fancy sunglasses and join the fun!  Tuesday is sports day and all students will be taking the district's English Interim Assessment so be sure everyone gets a good nights rest.  Wednesday, is Farb Club t-shirt day and Muffins with Mom at 8:15 am.  Please be sure to RSVP for this fun event.  Progress Reports will also be coming home on Wednesday, so be sure to ask your student to see how they are doing.  8th Graders must have a 2.0 GPA with NO F's to be able to participate in promotion and all the activities. Also, on Wednesday, our award winning chorus will be participating in the cluster choral concert at Farb.  The doors open at 5:50 pm and unfortunately, due to space only 2 guests per chorus student.  Thursday is College t-shirt day and our award winning band will be preforming at Hancock for their military appreciation assembly.  Parents are encouraged to attend beginning at 9:30 am at Hancock.  Friday is Super Hero Day.  PTSA is asking that as you do your spring cleaning to donate any unwanted items to them for our Rummage Sale in June.  We will have collection days set up when we return at the end of April.  We are also collecting box tops to raise money for Farb; so please bring your box tops to the front office.  Finally, school will reopen on Monday, April 27th for all students.  Until then, I wish you a safe and restful vacation with family and friends.

     Thank you!
