The fourth annual Back-2-School Resource and Enrollment Fair for military families who will be new to the San Diego Unified School District will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Farb Middle School in Tierrasanta.
Presented by partners San Diego Unified School District, Navy Region Southwest and Marine Corps Installations West, the fair will welcome military families to San Diego. Parents and guardians who have arrived in San Diego after schools closed for Summer Break will be able to enroll their students at schools throughout the district and gather information on community, school district and military services.
Farb Middle School is located at 4880 La Cuenta Dr. (92124).
Each year, the fair’s on-site enrollment is a great convenience to parents, as they are not only able to find out about neighborhood schools, but about the many enrollment options that are available in our district. Each enrolling child will be entered in a raffle for fun prizes, provided by Navy Exchange and other exhibitors.
In addition to visiting resource booths, families can enjoy hands-on activities provided by Reuben H Fleet Science Center, explore Fleet and Family Support Center’s Family Readiness Express, and check out fascinating vehicles and robotics. Child care for children under 10 will be provided by Navy CYP. Thanks to a donation from San Diego Gas and Electric, visitors will also be served lunch by the district's Food Services Department.
