In collaboration with the Parental Readiness & Empowerment Program (A project of the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under the Law), the Parent Outreach and Engagement Department (located at the Harold J. Ballard Parent Center) is pleased to present this second - of three - exciting workshops for ALL families. Read below for details or visit the Parent Outreach and Engagement calendar.

Time: 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
This interactive workshop for families will provide support and training to parents where they will discuss topics such as:
The Special Education process
What an "IEP" is
How to prepare for an "IEP" meeting
Families will also have the opportunity to meet with a volunteer advocate to assess their child's educational needs (separate appointment required, please see below for information about the Educational Clinic)
Translation is provided in Spanish, and childcare is provided at no cost, along with lunch.
Although it is free to attend, registration is required in order to guarantee your spot, and childcare is limited to the first 40 children.
The optional Educational Consultation Clinic will be held that same afternoon, but you MUST indicate your interest on the RSVP portion of the registration form when you sign up. In addition, there is also an interactive and fun Youth Workshop for ages middle and high school students being held, in English at the same time.
