Welcome to the San Diego Unified School District. We are the eighth largest U.S. urban district, and California's second largest school district.
The district educates 132,000 students from preschool through 12th grade, in 228 schools and educational facilities.
Our population is extremely diverse, representing more than 15 ethnic groups with more than 60 languages and dialects spoken at home. Students with family members on active duty represents a significant portion of our population -- more than 10,000 youngsters.
