Single Plan for Student Achievement

Single Plan for Student Achievement

Bayview Terrace Elementary School’s mission is to motivate and prepare students to become academically and socially competent in a global society as highly productive citizens with strong core values as their guiding principles. To this end, the goal of all teaching at Bayview Terrace is to ensure that students become proficient readers, writers, mathematicians and problem solvers.

Our Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) articulates our design to provide the necessary learning environment and monitoring process to support the academic success for ALL students to successfully reach our ultimate mission. The 2011-2012 SPSA development is based on available formative and summative student data, input from both our School Site Council (SSC) and School-wide Instructional Leadership Team (SILT), and the participation of all stakeholders in our learning community.

Bayview Terrace Elementary continues to identify strands of particular need in reading, writing, mathematics and science, causing our SPSA to focus resources to expedite the desired student achievement in these areas. Our SPSA design focuses on reinforcing our targeted at-risk students to reach proficiency by providing a variety of additional literacy opportunities such as Power Hour in grades 2, 3, and 4 and Primetime Academic Instruction. Other support services are delivered by the English Learner Support Teacher (ELST) and our Educational (Special Education) Specialists, In-school Resource teacher, Oasis tutors, MBHS Tutors, etc.
