Hoover: Hall of Fame News

Hoover Alumnus Ted Williams, c/o 1937, was inducted into the first ever class of the CIF Hall of Fame during a luncheon Sunday, May 22, 2011. 50 inductees were included in this class, part of the 50th anniversary of the CIF-San Diego Section. Williams was a Hall of Fame Baseball player who was drafted by the minor league San Diego Padres before graduating from high school, eventually playing out his hall of fame career with the Boston Red Sox.

Hoover's 80th Anniversary Celebration!

Hoover High School celebrated 80 years of excellence with our 80th Dinner Celebration on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the San Diego Bob Breitbard (Class of 1937) Hall of Champions.

This event featured a "History of Hoover Film", and honored our Elite 8 Achievers of 2010, and inducted 3 individuals into our Legends Hall of Fame (Ted Giannoulas aka San Diego Chicken; Tony Banks; and Todd Doxey). We also had a silent auction and individual exhibits featuring Hoover of yesteryear as well as Hoover in the future! It was a terrific night for every Cardinal!

Our staff and alumni volunteers have been working diligently to make this a very special year for Hoover and alumni everywhere. Your participation and support will show all of San Diego what a special place Hoover has been and continues to be!

Thank you for your support and we are very excited to celebrate Hoover's 80th anniversary with you.
